Dr. Richard Knowlton Invited to the White House for the Healthy Kids & Safe Sports Concussion Summit!

As President of the Academy for Sports Dentistry, Dr. Richard Knowlton works tirelessly in order to ensure people who take part in contact sports are best protected and cared for when dental issues occur during sports. Notably, his expertise, knowledge, skill, and genuine concern for patient care has placed him as a leading voice in the area of sports dentistry. Dr. Knowlton has worked extensively with the NCAA and the U.S. Olympic Team, among many other organizations and athletes, and has been featured in the New York Times for his expertise on the issue of NCAA players who ignore the use of mouthguards.

And Today, Dr. Knowlton adds yet another monumental accolade to his career as both a dentist and expertise in the field of sports dentistry. Dr. Knowlton was invited to the White House to attend the Healthy Kids & Safe Sports Concussion Summit! He is honored to have been invited to this incredibly important summit that addresses the ever-important issue of keeping children safe in sports activities.

Properly educating and protecting children as they start playing sports, as well as ensuring that safeguards are placed and enforced from coaches and parents, leads to minimizing the detrimental injuries that can have negative health effects later in life. Dr. Knowlton looks forward to the Summit, being held today on Thursday, May 29th, 2014.
